Gather AI is an emerging technology company that focuses on Physical AI and warehouse intelligence. By leveraging autonomous drones, computer vision, and advanced data pipelines, the firm digitises every corner of a warehouse, turning manual processes into real‑time, data‑driven workflows. Their platform, which includes products like Drone Vision, MHE Vision and the SAGE analytics suite, helps logistics operators improve accuracy, reduce labor costs and boost overall throughput. The company’s culture is built around rapid innovation, cross‑functional collaboration and a strong emphasis on production‑grade reliability. The role of Software Development Engineer II (Full Stack) sits at the heart of Gather AI’s engineering team in India. As a mid‑level engineer you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the backend services that power the company’s customer‑facing applications and internal integrations. You will work on everything from RESTful APIs and micro‑services to data pipelines, message‑queue based workflows and cloud‑native deployment pipelines. The position is fully remote, allowing you to contribute from anywhere in India while collaborating closely with product, security and customer‑success teams. Key Responsibilities: 1. Build and maintain production backend services using Python and Node.js/NestJS. 2. Design, implement and document REST APIs for internal and external consumption. 3. Develop robust integrations with third‑party logistics platforms and internal tools. 4. Create and optimise PostgreSQL schemas, write complex SQL queries and perform indexing and performance tuning. 5. Implement asynchronous processing using message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and ensure reliable retry mechanisms. 6. Apply caching strategies with Redis or equivalent to improve latency. 7. Containerise services with Docker and orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes in Azure (or other major cloud). 8. Own the CI/CD pipeline, automate testing, deployment and monitoring. 9. Monitor production health via logs, metrics and dashboards; diagnose and resolve incidents quickly. 10. Enforce secure coding practices, manage secrets, and collaborate on authentication/authorization design. Tech Stack: Python, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure, Git, CI/CD tools, Kafka/RabbitMQ, REST, OAuth/OpenID. Growth Path: Starting as an SDEβ€―II, high performers can progress to Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager roles, with opportunities to influence product strategy and architecture across the company’s AI‑driven logistics suite. Why Join Gather AI? You will work on cutting‑edge AI and robotics solutions that are reshaping the supply‑chain industry. The fully remote setup offers flexibility, while the fast‑paced environment provides exposure to end‑to‑end product development, cloud operations and large‑scale data engineering. You’ll be part of a collaborative team that values curiosity, ownership and continuous learning, with clear pathways for technical advancement.

What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
