The Talent Acquisition Trainee role is an entryβlevel position designed to immerse fresh graduates in the full recruitment lifecycle. Trainees work closely with the Talent Acquisition team to source, engage, and manage candidates for specific business units. The role blends traditional HR responsibilitiesβcandidate communication, pipeline management, and stakeholder collaborationβwith modern analytics and technology tools. Trainees are expected to build talent pipelines from both active and passive candidates, maintain candidate experience, and support hiring managers in making dataβdriven decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Sourcing candidates through LinkedIn, professional networks, and job portals.
2. Building and maintaining talent pipelines for active and passive talent.
3. Communicating with candidates throughout the hiring journey to ensure a positive experience.
4. Engaging selected candidates and keeping them interested until onboarding.
5. Assisting in drafting job descriptions and interview questions.
6. Participating in candidate fitment discussions based on internal parity.
7. Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand hiring needs.
8. Leveraging recruitment analytics to track metrics such as timeβtoβfill and offer acceptance rates.
9. Using ATS, HRIS, Excel, and data visualization tools to manage and report on recruitment data.
10. Adapting quickly to changing priorities and maintaining high quality and compliance.
The tech stack for this role typically includes LinkedIn Recruiter, Workday or SAP SuccessFactors, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic data analysis tools like Excel or Power BI. Trainees will learn to use these tools to streamline processes and generate actionable insights.
Growth path: After completing the trainee program, successful candidates can progress to roles such as Recruitment Coordinator, Senior Recruiter, Talent Acquisition Specialist, and eventually Talent Acquisition Manager or HR Business Partner.
