Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Rubik is a global leader at the intersection of data protection, cyber resilience, and enterprise AI acceleration. Founded in 2014, the company has built a reputation for delivering end‑to‑end security solutions that protect data across on‑premise, cloud, and SaaS environments. With a rapidly expanding portfolio that includes Rubrik Security Cloud and Rubrik Agent Cloud, the firm helps enterprises secure, monitor, and recover critical workloads while enabling trusted AI deployments at scale. Rubik’s culture emphasizes autonomy, rapid learning, and a merit‑based growth path, making it an attractive destination for ambitious engineers who want to work on cutting‑edge security and AI technologies.
The Winter Internship for Software Engineers is a full‑time, on‑site opportunity in Bangalore from January to May 2027. Interns are treated as full members of the engineering team and are given ownership of real‑world projects rather than repetitive tasks. The role is designed for students who are eager to contribute to a high‑impact product suite, collaborate with senior engineers, and experience the end‑to‑end software development lifecycle in a fast‑moving security environment.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Designing, developing, testing, and deploying new features for Rubik’s security and AI platforms.
2. Writing clean, maintainable code in Java, Python, C/C++, or Scala.
3. Conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers.
4. Identifying performance bottlenecks and proposing optimization strategies.
5. Collaborating with product managers and designers to translate requirements into technical specifications.
6. Maintaining documentation and ensuring compliance with security best practices.
7. Participating in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
8. Building automated test suites and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
9. Debugging production issues and delivering timely fixes.
10. Continuously learning emerging technologies related to data protection and AI operations.
The tech stack primarily revolves around Java, Python, and Scala for backend services, with C/C++ used for performance‑critical components. Interns will also gain exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and modern DevOps tools. Rubik encourages interns to explore AI‑related libraries and security frameworks, providing a holistic view of the product ecosystem.
Growth path: Successful interns may receive a full‑time offer to join Rubik’s engineering teams, with clear progression from Software Engineer I to senior and staff roles. The company invests heavily in continuous learning, offering mentorship programs, internal tech talks, and sponsorship for certifications.
Why join Rubik? You will work on mission‑critical security solutions that protect some of the world’s largest enterprises, gain hands‑on experience with AI‑driven operations, and be part of a culture that values initiative, diversity, and rapid career growth. The internship offers a competitive stipend, exposure to cutting‑edge technology, and the chance to make a tangible impact early in your career.
