The Data Analyst role is positioned at the heart of Ascendionβs dataβdriven decisionβmaking engine. Reporting to the Analytics Lead, the analyst will collect, cleanse, and transform data from multiple internal and external sources, turning raw numbers into actionable insights for senior stakeholders. The position is hybrid, based in Gurugram, allowing for a blend of onβsite collaboration and remote productivity. Candidates will work closely with product managers, engineers and business analysts to build dashboards, generate executive summaries, and support dataβcentric initiatives that drive client success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather data from varied sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets) and ensure data quality.
2. Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies and opportunities.
3. Design and develop interactive dashboards using tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
4. Create automated reports and visualisations for senior leadership.
5. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical models.
6. Conduct adβhoc analysis to answer strategic questions from product and sales teams.
7. Document data pipelines, methodologies and findings for reproducibility.
8. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve data ingestion and storage processes.
9. Present insights clearly through storytelling, charts and executive summaries.
10. Stay updated with emerging analytics techniques and suggest process improvements.
Tech Stack: Excel (advanced), SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Python (pandas, matplotlib), Git for version control, and basic knowledge of cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery).
