The role of Associate Project Engineer is an entryβlevel software development position that sits at the intersection of hardware and software. The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary team that designs, builds, and maintains software platforms used in power conversion, grid management, and renewable integration. Under the guidance of senior engineers, the associate will contribute across the entire software development lifecycle β from gathering requirements and designing modules to coding, testing, deployment, and postβrelease support. This exposure provides a solid foundation for a career in highβtech engineering and opens pathways to roles such as Software Engineer, System Engineer, or Project Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather and analyse functional and nonβfunctional software requirements in collaboration with domain experts.
2. Design, develop, and unitβtest code using a primary programming language (Java/C++/Python) and supporting scripting tools.
3. Implement database interactions and write efficient SQL queries for dataβcentric modules.
4. Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
5. Manage source code using Git, handling branching, merging, and pullβrequest workflows.
6. Support integration and system testing, creating test cases and debugging defects.
7. Assist in build automation, continuous integration pipelines, and deployment activities.
8. Document technical specifications, user guides, and maintenance procedures.
9. Respond to change requests, implement enhancements, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
10. Collaborate with crossβfunctional teams, including hardware engineers, QA, and product managers, to deliver reliable software solutions.
Tech Stack: Java or C++/Python, SQL/NoSQL databases, Git, Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, Linux/Windows environments, basic knowledge of embedded systems.
Growth Path: Starting as an Associate Project Engineer, high performers can progress to Software Engineer, Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, and eventually Project Manager or Architect, with opportunities for crossβdomain moves into IoT, AI, or renewable energy solutions.
