
Eligibility Criteria
Graduates with a B.Tech/B.E., B.Sc., B.Com, MCA or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related fields. Minimum 60% aggregate (or CGPA 6.5/10). Final year students of the 2023β2026 batches are eligible. No active backlogs at the time of joining. Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn are essential.

As a Data Analyst at StepChange, you will be at the heart of the product development lifecycle, turning raw, heterogeneous data into actionable insights that power the companyβs sustainability models. You will work closely with data engineers, product managers and domain experts to design pipelines, develop analytical scripts, and present findings to both internal stakeholders and external clients. Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain standalone scripts and automated systems for data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
2. Build and support endβtoβend data pipelines that feed the sustainability modeling platform.
3. Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies relevant to environmental metrics.
4. Apply statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to develop predictive and prescriptive models.
5. Evaluate and benchmark different data extraction techniques, algorithms, and tools for efficiency and accuracy.
6. Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
7. Prepare clear, concise reports and dashboards that communicate insights to nonβtechnical audiences.
8. Stay updated with emerging technologies in data science, cloud computing, and sustainability analytics.
9. Participate in code reviews and contribute to bestβpractice documentation.
10. Assist in research initiatives aimed at enhancing the scientific robustness of the platform.
Tech Stack: Python (pandas, NumPy, scikitβlearn), SQL, Tableau/PowerBI, Git, AWS (S3, Lambda, Redshift), Docker, and basic knowledge of GIS tools.
Growth Path: Starting as an Analyst, high performers can progress to Senior Analyst, Data Scientist, and eventually Lead Analytics or Product Owner roles, with opportunities to specialize in climate analytics or machineβlearning engineering.
