The Foundational Engineer role is positioned within the Camera Domain team of the automotive infotainment and cluster division. As an entryβlevel software engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain highβperformance C++ code that powers cameraβrelated features in modern vehicles. You will work closely with crossβfunctional teamsβhardware, firmware, system integration, and global product groupsβto translate requirements into robust software components. The position offers a hybrid work model, with three days a week onβsite at the Pune campus, providing exposure to both collaborative inβperson sessions and focused remote development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, test, and debug C++ applications for camera and infotainment systems on Linux platforms.
2. Participate in requirement analysis, creating detailed software design documents and interface specifications.
3. Implement multiβthreaded modules, ensuring optimal memory management and performance.
4. Write unit tests using frameworks such as Google Test and maintain high code coverage.
5. Collaborate with global engineering teams to integrate features across domains and resolve crossβfunctional issues.
6. Track and mitigate technical risks early, documenting dependencies and mitigation strategies.
7. Respond to customer queries, providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines.
9. Prepare and maintain technical documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
10. Occasionally travel for training, workshops, or coordination with other Harman groups.
Tech Stack: C++ (C++11/14/17), Linux, Git, CMake/Make, Google Test, STL, multiβthreading libraries, basic scripting (Python/Bash).
Growth Path: Starting as a Foundational Engineer, you can progress to Associate Engineer, Senior Engineer, and eventually Lead Engineer or Technical Architect, with opportunities to move into product management or system integration roles.
