The Associate Software Quality Engineer role is a fullβtime, permanent position that sits within the Information Technology function. As a QA engineer, you will be responsible for executing quality assurance processes for software applications that support UPSβs core business operations. Your dayβtoβday tasks will include designing test cases, executing functional and regression tests, logging defects, and collaborating with developers and vendors to resolve issues. You will also document progress, maintain test artefacts, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Execute Information Services QA processes with moderate guidance.
2. Identify software problems and analyze potential solutions.
3. Generate alternatives and recommend solutions within defined processes.
4. Document progress and status of assigned QA tasks.
5. Collaborate with QA team members during testing activities.
6. Work with application developers to identify and resolve software quality issues.
7. Coordinate with software vendors, consultants, and user communities when required.
8. Work with testβenvironment technical support staff.
9. Execute testing procedures for applications and systems.
10. Support testing efforts involving small to medium complexity.
Tech Stack & Tools: While the job description does not mandate a specific automation framework, familiarity with manual testing, defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA), basic SQL, and understanding of SDLC phases will be valuable. Knowledge of automation tools such as Selenium or Playwright is a plus.
Growth Path: Starting as an Associate QA Engineer, you can progress to Senior QA Engineer, QA Lead, or move into specialized roles such as Test Automation Engineer, QA Manager, or Product Owner, depending on your interests and performance.
