Cuculus is a fast‑growing technology firm focused on delivering innovative software solutions for the utilities sector. With a global partner network, the company helps electricity, water and gas providers transition to smarter, more sustainable operations. By combining domain expertise with cutting‑edge cloud and data technologies, Cuculus enables utilities to optimise asset management, improve customer experience and reduce environmental impact. The organisation prides itself on a collaborative, international work culture where engineers are encouraged to experiment, learn and see their ideas turn into real products that power cities and nations. As a Junior Python Developer based in Bengaluru, you will join a vibrant backend team that builds the core services powering Cuculus’ utility platforms. This role is ideal for fresh graduates or candidates with up to two years of experience who have a solid grasp of Python fundamentals and a budding interest in Django‑based web development. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to the design, implementation and maintenance of reliable, scalable APIs that serve internal tools and external client applications. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django, adhering to clean‑code principles. 2. Design, implement and document RESTful APIs, preferably with Django REST Framework. 3. Create and manage asynchronous tasks using Celery, configuring Redis as the broker/back‑end. 4. Write and optimise SQL queries for PostgreSQL/MySQL databases through Django ORM. 5. Containerise applications with Docker, author Dockerfiles and manage multi‑container setups via Docker Compose. 6. Debug production issues, analyse logs and propose fixes to ensure high availability. 7. Participate in code reviews, contribute to shared coding standards and documentation. 8. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams using Git for version control and agile workflows. 9. Continuously learn emerging technologies and best practices to improve system reliability. 10. Assist senior developers in translating business requirements into technical solutions. **Tech Stack**: Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Celery, Redis, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Docker, Git, Linux, REST/JSON, SQL. **Growth Path**: Starting as a Junior Developer, you will gain hands‑on experience with end‑to‑end backend development, gradually taking ownership of larger modules. Within 1‑2 years, high performers can progress to Mid‑Level Engineer, lead feature teams, and eventually move into Architecture or Technical Lead roles, supported by internal training programs and mentorship. **Why Join Cuculus?** The company offers exposure to a niche, high‑impact domainβ€”utility digital transformationβ€”while working with an international, expert team. Employees enjoy a balanced work‑life environment, competitive compensation, and clear career progression. The culture encourages curiosity, continuous learning and ownership, making it an ideal launchpad for aspiring backend engineers who want to make a tangible difference in the world’s essential services.

What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
