The Support Engineer 1 role is an entryβlevel position designed for recent graduates who are eager to start a career in technical support within a worldβclass enterprise environment. Reporting to senior support engineers, you will act as the first point of contact for Oracle customers, handling inquiries via phone, email, or chat. You will troubleshoot simple issues related to assigned Oracle products, document your findings, and create knowledgeβbase articles that help both customers and internal teams. The role also offers exposure to automation tools and AIβassisted diagnostics, allowing you to develop a deeper understanding of product ecosystems and support processes.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Fielding customer queries across multiple channels and building rapport.
2. Diagnosing and resolving basic technical problems for assigned Oracle products.
3. Reβcreating reported issues in a test environment to identify root causes.
4. Escalating complex cases to senior engineers or specialized teams.
5. Maintaining accurate serviceβrequest logs and updating product documentation.
6. Drafting troubleshooting guides and knowledgeβbase articles for resolved issues.
7. Collaborating with peers to report design or reliability bugs.
8. Leveraging AIβdriven tools to automate repetitive diagnostics.
9. Suggesting improvements to support workflows based on customer feedback.
10. Providing translation support for technical and nonβtechnical queries when needed.
The technical stack primarily revolves around Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Database, and related SaaS offerings. While deep expertise is not required at entry level, familiarity with SQL, basic networking concepts, and operatingβsystem fundamentals is beneficial. Soft skills such as effective communication, time management, and collaboration are emphasized throughout the role.
