The role of WiFi/Switching Hardware Engineer in the Pune office is designed for fresh graduates or finalโyear students who are passionate about electronics, networking, and hardware validation. You will work closely with senior hardware architects and software teams to evaluate, prototype, and characterize WiFi access points and switching silicon. The position offers a blend of handsโon lab work, schematic/layout review, and automated test development, providing a solid foundation for a career in highโspeed networking hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in frontโend and backโend hardware schematic and layout reviews, both manually and using automated tools.
2. Conduct functional and performance experiments on WiFi accessโpoint prototypes and switch modules.
3. Perform signal integrity analysis, powerโbudget calculations, and component interfacing verification.
4. Develop and execute automated test scripts (Python/Shell) for hardware validation and regression.
5. Collaborate with firmware and software teams to integrate hardware with EOS and CloudVision platforms.
6. Document test plans, results, and rootโcause analyses for internal stakeholders.
7. Assist in evaluating ODM solutions and ensuring they meet Aristaโs quality standards.
8. Support the creation of design guidelines and bestโpractice documents for future hardware projects.
9. Stay updated with emerging WiFi (802.11ax, 802.11be) and Ethernet technologies and propose improvements.
10. Participate in crossโfunctional design reviews and contribute ideas for product roadmap.
Tech Stack & Tools: Ethernet and WiFi protocol fundamentals, TCP/IP basics, Linux/Windows environments, Python scripting, Shell scripting, schematic capture tools (Altium, Cadence), layout tools (Mentor, KiCad), signal generators, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, MATLAB for data analysis, and basic knowledge of networking concepts such as DHCP, IPv4/IPv6, TCP/UDP.
Growth Path: Starting as a junior hardware engineer, you can progress to senior hardware designer, hardware lead, or system architect within 3โ5โฏyears, depending on performance and expertise.
