The role of a C/C++ Developer β Research Engineer is designed for 2026 engineering graduates who are passionate about lowβlevel programming and embedded systems. As a Research Engineer, you will join a focused team that explores new algorithms, optimizes firmware, and prototypes hardwareβsoftware interfaces for upcoming LG products. You will be expected to translate theoretical concepts into efficient, productionβready code while adhering to strict performance and memory constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, develop, and maintain embedded C/C++ code for prototype and production platforms.
2. Implement and optimise data structures and algorithms to meet realβtime requirements.
3. Conduct unit testing, debugging, and performance profiling on Linuxβbased development boards.
4. Collaborate with hardware engineers to define interface specifications and integration points.
5. Document code, design decisions, and test results following industry best practices.
6. Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
7. Contribute to research papers or internal whiteβpapers on emerging technologies.
8. Assist senior researchers in evaluating new tools, libraries, and frameworks.
9. Ensure compliance with LGβs security and quality standards.
10. Stay updated with the latest trends in embedded systems, OS concepts, and C++ standards.
Tech Stack: C, C++ (C++11/14), Linux (Ubuntu), Git, Make/CMake, Embedded RTOS basics, Data Structures, Algorithms, Debugging tools (GDB, Valgrind), Version control, Scripting (Python/Bash) for automation.
