The Advanced Manufacturing, Mobility & Infrastructure (AMI) practice focuses on sectors such as aerospace, chemicals, automotive, industrial products and transportation. Within AMI, the CNS β Risk β Process & Controls team assists organisations in identifying, assessing and mitigating risks that could impede strategic objectives. The team works across enterprise risk, technology risk and financial services risk, delivering audit, compliance and advisory services that enhance resilience and governance.
As an Associate Consultant in this team, you will be the first line of execution for internal audit and risk advisory engagements. You will develop a deep understanding of client business processes, support walkthroughs, document controls, and perform testing to validate effectiveness. Your analytical skills will be applied to financial and operational data to spot trends, exceptions and potential risk hotspots. You will prepare working papers, riskβcontrol matrices, process flow diagrams and contribute to the preparation of clientβfacing reports. The role offers exposure to a variety of industries, handsβon experience with leading audit tools, and mentorship from senior consultants.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting senior team members in planning and executing internal audit and risk advisory engagements.
2. Conducting process walkthroughs and documenting business processes.
3. Performing control testing and evaluating control design effectiveness.
4. Analyzing financial, operational and transactional data to identify anomalies.
5. Preparing risk and control matrices, process flowcharts and working papers.
6. Supporting the review of client policies against regulatory and bestβpractice standards.
7. Drafting preliminary findings and recommendations for senior review.
8. Collaborating with crossβfunctional teams to gather evidence and insights.
9. Maintaining engagement documentation in line with EY methodology.
10. Continuously upskilling through EYβs learning platforms and certifications.
Tech stack commonly used includes Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), data analytics tools such as Tableau or Powerβ―BI, audit software like ACL, and basic SQL for data extraction. The growth path typically moves from Analyst to Senior Consultant, then Manager, Senior Manager and eventually Director, with clear milestones for skill development and leadership exposure.
