Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Sutherland is a leading global business process and technology services company that specializes in customer experience, digital transformation, and technology solutions. With a presence in over 30 countries, Sutherland partners with Fortune 500 clients to deliver end‑to‑end customer support, technical assistance, and business process services. The company is known for its strong focus on employee development, offering structured training programs, mentorship, and clear career progression paths. Sutherland’s culture emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a customer‑centric mindset, making it an attractive destination for freshers and experienced professionals alike.
The Customer Support Associate (CSA) role is the entry point into Sutherland’s customer service ecosystem. CSAs act as the first line of contact for customers across multiple channels – phone, chat, and email – resolving queries, providing product information, and ensuring a seamless experience. The role requires a blend of communication, problem‑solving, and technical aptitude, as CSAs must navigate customer concerns, record interactions accurately, and adhere to service‑level agreements.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Handling customer queries via phone, chat, and email.
2. Assisting with product and service‑related questions.
3. Recording customer interactions and transactions accurately.
4. Understanding customer requirements and providing suitable solutions.
5. Following company policies and SLA guidelines.
6. Identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunities.
7. Escalating complex issues to senior support teams.
8. Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of products and services.
9. Managing multiple customer queries efficiently.
10. Maintaining professional communication and focusing on customer satisfaction.
The tech stack primarily involves customer relationship management (CRM) tools, knowledge bases, and communication platforms such as Webex. CSAs also use basic office software and troubleshooting tools.
Growth path: Starting as a CSA, employees can progress to Senior CSA, Team Lead, and Manager roles. With consistent performance, opportunities to move into specialized domains (technical support, product training) or cross‑functional roles (operations, quality assurance) are available.
Why join Sutherland? The company offers comprehensive training, exposure to global clients, and a clear promotion trajectory. Employees benefit from a supportive work environment, competitive compensation, and the chance to build a career in customer experience and technology services.
