The Summer Internship for Software Engineer β Network/Embedded/Application Development is a unique opportunity for 2028βbatch students to experience realβworld product development in a fastβpaced, collaborative environment. Interns will be placed in one of three specialised tracks β Networking Protocols, Application Development, or Embedded & System Development β and will work sideβbyβside with senior engineers, product managers and security experts. The role emphasizes AIβassisted development, encouraging the use of tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude and LangChain to accelerate coding, testing and documentation.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, implement and test networking protocol modules, socketβlevel services or embedded firmware components.
2. Write clean, maintainable C/C++ or Java/Python/Go code following Ciscoβs coding standards.
3. Develop unit tests and integrate automated test suites using AIβdriven test generation.
4. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and incorporate reviewer suggestions.
5. Debug complex issues using Wireshark, GNS3, or hardware debuggers and propose performance improvements.
6. Collaborate with crossβfunctional teams to define API contracts and data models.
7. Contribute to documentation, design specifications and knowledgeβbase articles.
8. Explore security implications, implement encryption (TLS) and follow ZeroβTrust guidelines.
9. Prototype cloudβnative services on AWS/Azure/GCP and evaluate scalability.
10. Present weekly progress updates to mentors and senior leadership.
