The Summer Internship for Software Engineer – Network/Embedded/Application Development is a unique opportunity for 2028‑batch students to experience real‑world product development in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Interns will be placed in one of three specialised tracks – Networking Protocols, Application Development, or Embedded & System Development – and will work side‑by‑side with senior engineers, product managers and security experts. The role emphasizes AI‑assisted development, encouraging the use of tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude and LangChain to accelerate coding, testing and documentation. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design, implement and test networking protocol modules, socket‑level services or embedded firmware components. 2. Write clean, maintainable C/C++ or Java/Python/Go code following Cisco’s coding standards. 3. Develop unit tests and integrate automated test suites using AI‑driven test generation. 4. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and incorporate reviewer suggestions. 5. Debug complex issues using Wireshark, GNS3, or hardware debuggers and propose performance improvements. 6. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts and data models. 7. Contribute to documentation, design specifications and knowledge‑base articles. 8. Explore security implications, implement encryption (TLS) and follow Zero‑Trust guidelines. 9. Prototype cloud‑native services on AWS/Azure/GCP and evaluate scalability. 10.
