Job Description & Key Responsibilities
IQVIA is a global leader in healthcare data, analytics and technology solutions, serving pharmaceutical companies, payers, providers and governments. With a presence in over 100 countries, IQVIA combines deep domain expertise with cutting‑edge digital platforms to help clients improve outcomes and reduce costs. In India, the company has rapidly expanded its engineering hubs, offering fresh talent the chance to work on real‑world health‑tech products that impact millions of lives. The Bangalore office, located in the city’s vibrant tech corridor, fosters a collaborative culture where engineers are encouraged to experiment, learn, and deliver high‑quality software.
The Software Development Engineer 2 (SDE‑2) role is an entry‑level full‑stack position designed for recent graduates or candidates with limited professional experience. As an SDE‑2, you will be part of a cross‑functional team that designs, builds, and maintains end‑to‑end applications spanning both front‑end user interfaces and back‑end services. You will receive mentorship from senior engineers, participate in agile ceremonies, and contribute to the entire software development lifecycle—from requirement analysis and design to coding, testing, validation, and release.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Design and develop responsive front‑end components using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
2. Implement server‑side logic, RESTful APIs and integration layers using Java/Python/C#.
3. Write clean, maintainable code following coding standards and version‑control best practices.
4. Perform unit testing, debugging and root‑cause analysis for reported issues.
5. Participate in functional specification reviews and provide feedback on feasibility.
6. Assist in validation activities to ensure compliance with IQVIA’s quality standards.
7. Collaborate with QA, product, and business teams to deliver features on schedule.
8. Document technical designs, APIs and deployment procedures.
9. Continuously learn and adopt new technologies, frameworks and industry best practices.
10. Contribute ideas for process improvement and automation within the team.
The tech stack typically includes Java or Python for back‑end services, relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and front‑end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and vanilla JavaScript or lightweight libraries. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerisation (Docker) is a plus. IQVIA offers a clear growth path: high performers can progress to Senior Engineer, Tech Lead and eventually Architecture roles, with opportunities to move across product domains or into data‑analytics teams. Joining IQVIA means working on meaningful health‑care solutions, receiving structured training, and being part of a globally recognised brand that values innovation, diversity and employee development.
