Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, popularly known as Jio, has revolutionised the Indian telecom landscape since its launch in 2016. Backed by the massive Reliance Industries conglomerate, Jio offers a pan‑India 4G network, a suite of digital services, and a vision to build a fully integrated digital ecosystem. The company is recognised for its aggressive innovation, customer‑centric approach, and rapid expansion into areas such as broadband, media, and enterprise solutions. Working at Jio means being part of a high‑velocity environment where technology meets massive scale, and where fresh talent is given real responsibility from day one. The Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) role is designed for recent engineering graduates who are eager to dive into the core telecom network domain. As a GET, you will be mentored by senior engineers and will contribute to the design, operation, and optimisation of Jio’s 2G, 3G, and 4G core networks. The position offers a blend of hands‑on troubleshooting, system validation, and cross‑functional collaboration, providing a solid foundation for a long‑term career in telecom engineering. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Assist in the design and documentation of core network architecture. 2. Coordinate with device and product teams to define requirements for 4G, 3G and roaming capabilities. 3. Support day‑to‑day operations of 4G, 3G and 2G core networks. 4. Monitor core KPIs, service parameters and generate performance reports. 5. Participate in subscriber provisioning workflow and ensure smooth onboarding. 6. Validate authentication, charging and billing systems for accuracy. 7. Conduct interconnect and roaming testing with partner networks. 8. Analyse call‑flow and signalling issues, providing root‑cause analysis. 9. Troubleshoot core alarms, outages and coordinate incident resolution. 10. Document configuration changes and maintain knowledge‑base articles. **Tech Stack & Tools**: LTE/4G core protocols (S1‑AP, S6a, Diameter), 3G/2G signalling (MAP, SS7), IP networking, Linux/Unix, Wireshark, scripting (Python/Bash), network monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix) and version‑control (Git). **Growth Path**: Successful trainees can progress to roles such as Core Network Engineer, Senior Engineer, and eventually to Architecture or Project Lead positions. Jio encourages continuous learning through internal certifications, external courses, and exposure to cutting‑edge projects like 5G rollout. **Why Join Jio?** Jio offers a competitive compensation package, a vibrant work culture that rewards innovation, and the chance to work on one of the largest telecom networks in the world. Freshers get early responsibility, mentorship from industry veterans, and a clear roadmap for career advancement.

What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
Why do you want to join Reliance Jio as a Graduate Engineer Trainee?
Preparation Tip: Highlight Reliance Jio's market reputation, recent tech innovations, and how your skills in Basic knowledge of 4G directly solve their team's objectives.
