The Associate Trust & Safety role is a frontline position within AstroLokal’s moderation team. The incumbent will review audio, video and text conversations, enforce community guidelines, flag policy‑violating material and maintain detailed moderation logs. The role demands sharp judgment, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to handle sensitive content with professionalism. Working from home, the moderator will collaborate with product, legal and community teams to continuously improve safety protocols. Key Responsibilities: 1. Review and moderate audio, video and chat conversations in Marathi and English as per platform policies. 2. Identify, flag and escalate inappropriate, hateful, or illegal content. 3. Ensure consistent application of community standards across all moderation actions. 4. Conduct periodic audits of recorded conversations to verify compliance and quality. 5. Maintain accurate moderation records and contribute to weekly/monthly reports. 6. Communicate with users and hosts to clarify policy decisions and resolve disputes. 7. Stay updated on evolving moderation guidelines, legal requirements and safety best practices. 8. Assist in refining moderation workflows and suggest automation opportunities using AI/NLP tools. 9. Support the broader Trust & Safety team in incident response and crisis management. Tech Stack & Tools: The moderation workflow leverages a custom CMS built on Node.js and React, integrated with AI‑driven speech‑to‑text and content‑analysis engines. Moderators use CRM platforms (e.g., Freshdesk), Excel for data tracking, and internal dashboards for real‑time monitoring. Familiarity with basic scripting or SQL can help in generating insights.
