The role of Assistant, Valuation and Analytics Advisory (AI Specialist) is a Fixed Term Hire (FTH) position within the Audit & Assurance Valuation and Analytics team. The incumbent will work closely with audit engagement teams to evaluate the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning models in financial reporting, assess associated risks, and design appropriate audit responses. This position offers a unique blend of technical AI expertise and audit methodology exposure, making it an ideal launchpad for fresh graduates interested in the intersection of data science, risk governance, and financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identify and document AI/ML usage across client financial reporting and enterprise processes.
2. Evaluate model complexity, reliability, and performance using statistical techniques, including drift analysis and yearβoverβyear comparisons.
3. Assess AI governance frameworks against standards such as NIST AI RMF and ISO/IEC 42001, and prepare maturity scorecards.
4. Support audit testing of controls over AI systems, including humanβinβtheβloop reviews and KPI monitoring.
5. Design substantive audit procedures for account balances impacted by AIβdriven estimates and automated journal entries.
6. Prepare client deliverables such as assessment reports, remediation recommendations, and workshop materials.
7. Communicate technical AI concepts clearly to both audit teams and client stakeholders.
8. Stay updated on AI regulatory developments (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF) and contribute to internal knowledgeβsharing platforms.
9. Assist in dayβtoβday coordination with client IT, risk, and business process owners.
10. Participate in internal training sessions and help develop AIβfocused learning content.
Tech Stack: Python (scikitβlearn, pandas, PyTorch/TensorFlow), cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI), statistical tools (R, Excel), familiarity with AI governance frameworks, and basic audit software (CaseWare, ACL).
Growth Path: Successful performance can lead to a permanent Analyst role, followed by progression to Senior Analyst, Consultant, and eventually Manager within Deloitteβs Risk & Financial Advisory practice.
