Graduates with B.Tech/B.E, B.Sc, BCA, MCA or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related streams. Minimum 60% aggregate (or CGPA 6.0/10). The role of Associate Software QA Specialist is designed for fresh graduates who are eager to start a career in software quality assurance. Working remotely from anywhere in India, the candidate will be part of a distributed QA team that partners closely with developers, product managers and business analysts to deliver defectβfree releases. The position offers exposure to both manual and introductory automation testing, enabling the associate to build a solid foundation in testing methodologies and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, review and execute functional, regression and smoke test cases based on requirement documents and user stories.
2. Log, track and verify defects using JIRA or similar defectβtracking tools, ensuring clear reproduction steps and severity classification.
3. Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and validate fixes in a timely manner.
4. Participate in daily standβups and sprint planning meetings to understand feature scope and testing priorities.
5. Maintain test documentation, including test plans, test matrices and traceability matrices.
6. Perform basic API testing using Postman and validate response data against specifications.
7. Execute SQL queries to verify data integrity in backend databases.
8. Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes by suggesting new test techniques and automation opportunities.
9. Assist in preparing release notes and quality metrics for stakeholder review.
10. Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging testing tools and standards.
Tech Stack & Tools: JIRA, Confluence, TestRail, Selenium (basic), Postman, MySQL/SQL Server, Git, Agile/Scrum methodology, Windows/Linux environments.
Growth Path: Starting as an Associate QA Specialist, high performers can advance to Software QA Engineer, Senior QA Engineer, QA Lead and eventually QA Manager or Automation Architect, with opportunities to specialize in performance, security or DevOps testing.
