Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Texas Instruments (TI) is a worldโleading semiconductor company with a legacy of more than 80 years in analog and embedded processing. Headquartered in Dallas, USA, TI operates in over 30 countries and employs more than 30,000 engineers worldwide. In India, TI has a strong presence in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and other tech hubs, driving innovations for industrial, automotive, dataโcenter and consumer markets. The companyโs culture blends deep technical expertise with a collaborative, inclusive environment where engineers are encouraged to own their projects and see ideas through from concept to silicon.
The role of Software Engineer in the DLP Products Organization is focused on building realโtime embedded software for Digital Light Processing (DLP) controllers used in industrial, automotive and display equipment. You will be part of a crossโfunctional team that includes hardware designers, FPGA engineers, algorithm specialists and field application engineers. The job offers exposure to endโtoโend product development, from preโsilicon validation to postโproduction support, and the chance to work on safetyโcritical systems that demand high reliability and performance.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Define requirements, design, develop, test and integrate embedded software components such as OS kernels, device drivers, middleware and algorithmic libraries.
2. Write and maintain build tools, compilers, simulators and IDE extensions for efficient development.
3. Apply machineโlearning models to edge applications and leverage AIโassisted coding to accelerate development.
4. Support preโsilicon validation, hardwareโsoftware coโverification and postโsilicon debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and video generators.
5. Influence hardware architecture decisions by providing softwareโcentric insights on performance, memory usage and safety.
6. Create and update technical documentation, user guides and customer collateral for software releases.
7. Manage configuration, version control and release processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards such as ISOโ26262 and ASPICE.
8. Develop unit, system and regression test suites, automate test execution and analyse results to drive continuous improvement.
9. Provide onโsite or remote support to customers, troubleshoot issues and deliver timely patches.
10. Collaborate with global DLP teams to align roadmap, share best practices and mentor junior engineers.
**Tech Stack**: C/C++, Embedded RTOS (FreeRTOS, ThreadX), Python scripting, Git, static analysis tools, Lab equipment, AIโcode assistants, ISOโ26262, ASPICE, MISRA C.
**Growth Path**: Starting as an Embedded Software Engineer, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, and eventually to Architecture or Product Management roles, with opportunities to work on cuttingโedge silicon projects across TIโs global portfolio.
**Why Join TI?** TI offers competitive compensation, a robust learning ecosystem, exposure to worldโclass semiconductor technology, and a culture that values diversity, innovation and workโlife balance. Engineers at TI get to see their code run on millions of devices worldwide, making a tangible impact on industries ranging from automotive safety to medical imaging.
