The role of Associate 1_AM β HF&PE is an entryβlevel position within KPMGβs US Tax Compliance practice, specifically focused on hedgeβfund and privateβequity structures. Candidates will work under senior engagement managers to support the preparation and filing of US federal, state and international tax returns for corporate and partnership entities. The position blends accounting fundamentals, tax knowledge and strong dataβprocessing skills, making it an ideal launchpad for a career in international tax compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Gather, validate and organise client tax data using KPMGβs proprietary tax technology platforms.
2. Populate basic federal, state and international tax return templates with accurate financial information.
3. Perform selfβreview of prepared schedules to identify and correct errors before submission.
4. Assist senior team members in compiling supporting documentation for audit trails.
5. Respond to simple client queries related to data discrepancies or filing requirements.
6. Maintain detailed workβpapers and ensure compliance with KPMG quality standards.
7. Participate in internal training sessions on US tax regulations and tax software tools.
8. Collaborate with crossβfunctional teams to resolve dataβintegration issues.
9. Track multiple assignments simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
10. Contribute ideas for process improvements and automation opportunities.
Tech Stack & Tools: Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Microsoft Office Suite, KPMGβs proprietary tax compliance software, basic knowledge of US tax filing systems (e.g., CCH, GoSystem), and dataβvalidation utilities.
