Amazon is one of the world’s most customer‑obsessed companies, operating a massive e‑commerce ecosystem that spans retail, cloud services, digital streaming and logistics. In India, Amazon has built a robust fulfillment network with dozens of fulfillment centers, sort hubs and a growing transportation fleet, creating millions of jobs and driving innovation in supply‑chain technology. The company’s culture emphasizes ownership, frugality and a bias for action, encouraging employees to think big and deliver results that delight customers. The role of Transportation Representative (AV) sits within Amazon’s Transportation Operations Center (TOC) in Hyderabad. As a key liaison between carriers, vendors, fulfillment centers and internal stakeholders, the representative ensures smooth movement of freight both inbound (from vendors to fulfillment centers) and outbound (from fulfillment centers to customers). The position demands real‑time problem solving, data‑driven decision making and clear communication across multiple time zones, especially in a 24×7 operating environment. Key responsibilities include: 1. Communicating proactively with external partners such as carriers and vendors as well as internal teams like retail, finance and software support to resolve issues that affect shipment timelines. 2. Pulling data from various databases using Excel, Access or SQL to generate ad‑hoc reports and identify trends that impact operational performance. 3. Developing and monitoring performance metrics that drive business results and help meet service level agreements. 4. Translating business and functional requirements into clear specifications for Amazon technology teams that build or enhance TOC tools. 5. Quickly assessing the business impact of emerging trends and making data‑backed decisions to mitigate risks. 6. Escalating variances or problems to the appropriate owners, tracking resolutions and ensuring timely closure. 7. Working within tight time constraints to meet critical business needs while documenting activities for continuous improvement. 8. Crafting weekly narrative reports that summarize findings, variances and recommendations, and presenting them in review forums. 9. Providing real‑time customer experience support in a 24/7 shift‑based environment, meeting productivity and quality targets consistently. 10. Ideating process improvements and driving them to completion, leveraging tools like Geo Studio, SIM and QuickSight where applicable. The tech stack for this role primarily includes Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), Access, basic SQL queries and Amazon‑specific analytics platforms such as QuickSight, Geo Studio and SIM. Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools is a plus. Career growth for a Transportation Representative can lead to Senior Operations Specialist, Operations Manager, or specialized roles in logistics analytics and program management. Amazon’s internal mobility program encourages employees to explore different functions, and high performers often receive accelerated promotions and opportunities to work on global projects. Why join Amazon? The company offers exposure to cutting‑edge logistics technology, a fast‑paced environment that hones problem‑solving skills, and a culture that rewards ownership and innovation. Employees benefit from competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to impact millions of customers daily while building a world‑class career in supply‑chain management.
