Job Description & Key Responsibilities
GE HealthCare is a global leader in medical technology, digital solutions and diagnostics. With a presence in more than 140 countries, the company delivers cuttingโedge imaging, monitoring and data analytics platforms that empower clinicians to deliver better patient outcomes. In India, GE HealthCare has built a strong ecosystem of hospitals, research institutes and diagnostic centres, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning. The organization prides itself on a purposeโdriven mission โ "creating a world where healthcare has no limits" โ and invests heavily in employee development, diversity and sustainable growth.
The role of Customer Service Engineer (CSE) is pivotal to GE HealthCareโs service excellence. As a CSE, you will be the technical bridge between the companyโs advanced imaging portfolio and the endโusers โ doctors, radiologists and biomedical technicians. You will travel across Gujarat, installing, commissioning, maintaining and troubleshooting multiโmodality equipment such as CT scanners, MRI systems, Cath Labs, CโARMs, PETโCT and Ultrasound machines. Your dayโtoโday interactions will involve diagnosing complex hardware and software issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that every piece of equipment meets the highest standards of performance and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Perform endโtoโend installation, calibration and validation of imaging equipment.
2. Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PM) and warranty service visits.
3. Diagnose and resolve multiโsymptom technical problems at the system level.
4. Interact daily with clinicians and technicians to understand equipment status and address concerns.
5. Document all service activities in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards.
6. Identify upsell or crossโsell opportunities and support account sales visits.
7. Share best practices and technical knowledge with the service team.
8. Maintain onโcall rotation, including weekends and afterโhours support.
9. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory guidelines during all field activities.
10. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and feedback loops for product development.
Technical stack: GE HealthCareโs imaging platforms run on proprietary firmware, embedded Linux, and Windowsโbased workstations. Familiarity with DICOM protocols, networking (TCP/IP), PLCs, pneumatic and hydraulic subsystems, as well as standard diagnostic tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters) is essential. Soft skills such as clear communication, customer empathy and documentation are equally important.
Growth path: Starting as a field CSE, you can progress to Senior Service Engineer, Service Team Lead, or Technical Trainer. High performers may transition into Product Management, Clinical Engineering leadership or regional service management roles, benefitting from GEโs global mobility programs.
Why join GE HealthCare? You will work with worldโclass technology, receive structured training, and gain exposure to a diverse set of clinical environments. The company offers competitive compensation, a supportive culture that values innovation, and clear career ladders that reward technical expertise and customer focus.
