The Apprentice role is a structured, onβtheβjob training program designed for recent graduates who want to launch a career in software development, testing, data analytics or production support. Apprentices will be embedded within real project teams, receive mentorship from senior engineers, and rotate across workstreams such as Java application development, QA automation, database performance tuning, and reporting. The program blends classroomβstyle learning with handsβon delivery, ensuring participants acquire both technical depth and professional soft skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in the full software development lifecycle β from requirement analysis to design, coding, testing, deployment and postβproduction support.
2. Write clean, maintainable Java and SQL code, adhering to coding standards and performing unit testing.
3. Assist in performance tuning of database queries, creating indexes and analysing execution plans.
4. Contribute to functional and manual testing activities, preparing test cases, executing test cycles and logging defects.
5. Develop automation scripts using Selenium, REST Assured and Python where applicable.
6. Support frontβend development tasks using ReactJS or AngularJS and integrate with Node.js backβends.
7. Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau or Excel.
8. Monitor applications using Splunk, Dynatrace and Grafana, responding to alerts and performing rootβcause analysis.
9. Document technical designs, test evidence, deployment procedures and knowledgeβtransfer articles.
10. Collaborate in Agile ceremonies β daily standβups, sprint planning, retrospectives β and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
