As a Software Engineer (Evergreen) in the Engineering/ UHR division, you will join a fastβmoving product team that follows Ciscoβs Design Thinking Principles. The role emphasizes simplification, user experience, and secure coding practices. You will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and senior engineers to translate customer needs into reliable, scalable software components. While you will start with guided tasks, you will quickly gain ownership of features and contribute to the broader codebase.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Write clean, maintainable code for assigned modules under the guidance of senior engineers.
2. Participate in daily standβups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned.
3. Create and maintain technical design documents and contribute to endβuser documentation.
4. Perform unit testing, code reviews, and assist in integration testing.
5. Debug and resolve defects reported during development and in production environments.
6. Apply secure coding standards and ensure privacy compliance in all deliverables.
7. Collaborate with crossβfunctional teams (design, product, QA) to deliver endβtoβend features.
8. Contribute ideas for product innovation and process improvements.
9. Gain proficiency in at least one major service pillar while developing a highβlevel understanding of related components.
10. Support senior members in scaling tests for reliability and performance.
**Tech Stack**: Java / Python, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Linux, Agile (Scrum), CI/CD pipelines, basic cloud concepts (AWS/Azure).
**Growth Path**: Starting as an Associate Engineer, you can progress to Software Engineer II, Senior Engineer, and eventually to Lead Engineer or Architect, with opportunities to move into product management or specialized security roles.
