As a Software Engineer โ I (Backend), you will be at the heart of Ownlyโs technology engine. You will design, develop, and ship robust backend services that power critical workflows such as order placement, payment processing, restaurant onboarding, and realโtime delivery tracking. Working in a microโservices environment, you will get the chance to influence architectural decisions, write clean and reusable code, and see your contributions directly impact millions of daily transactions. The role offers a balanced mix of handsโon coding, system design, and crossโfunctional collaboration with product managers, designers and fellow engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Participate in sprint planning, design discussions and code reviews with the engineering team.
2. Develop, test and deploy highโperformance Go services that adhere to microโservice best practices.
3. Write clean, maintainable and wellโdocumented code while championing coding standards.
4. Build reusable libraries and utilities to accelerate future development.
5. Integrate with various data stores (SQL/NoSQL) and external APIs for payments, mapping and notifications.
6. Collaborate closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
7. Conduct performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting of production services.
8. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.
9. Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to the tech stack.
10. Ensure security, scalability and reliability of backend systems.
Tech Stack: Go (Golang), Docker, Kubernetes, gRPC/REST, PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Git, CI/CD pipelines.
Growth Path: Starting as a Backend Engineer I, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Tech Lead and eventually Architect, with opportunities to lead product squads or specialize in performance engineering, data platforms or DevOps.
