Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Academic Mentor role is a fullβtime, workβfromβhome position that supports PWβs Kβ12 segment for classes 3 to 10. Mentors act as the bridge between curriculum designers and students, delivering live interactive sessions, clearing doubts, and guiding learners through homework, assignments and exam preparation. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while being part of a vibrant community of educators who share a passion for simplifying complex concepts and fostering a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct live, interactive online classes for Mathematics, Science, English and Social Studies, ensuring concepts are delivered in an engaging manner.
2. Address student queries in realβtime through chat, voice or video, providing clear, stepβbyβstep explanations.
3. Assign, review and provide constructive feedback on homework, assignments and mock tests.
4. Track individual student progress using PWβs LMS, generate performance reports and suggest personalised improvement plans.
5. Prepare short revision videos or microβlearning snippets to reinforce difficult topics.
6. Participate in weekly mentor syncβups to share best practices, discuss curriculum updates and align on teaching standards.
7. Maintain a professional online presence, adhering to PWβs code of conduct and dataβprivacy policies.
8. Contribute ideas for new teaching tools, interactive activities and assessment formats.
9. Mentor junior educators or interns, offering guidance on lesson planning and classroom management.
10. Stay updated with the latest NCERT syllabus changes and incorporate them into lesson delivery.
Tech Stack & Tools: Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, PWβs proprietary LMS, digital whiteboard (Jamboard), screenβsharing utilities, basic video editing tools (Camtasia/OBS), and cloud storage (Google Drive). Familiarity with interactive quiz platforms (Kahoot, Quizizz) is a plus.
Growth Path: Starting as an Academic Mentor, highβperforming educators can progress to Senior Mentor, Curriculum Specialist, Content Creator, or Team Lead roles.
