Job Description & Key Responsibilities
KPIT Technologies is a global leader in automotive engineering and digital transformation, helping OEMs and Tierโ1 suppliers accelerate the journey to Software Defined Vehicles. With a strong presence in India, the United States, Europe and Japan, KPIT combines deep domain expertise in automotive standards such as ISO 26262 and AUTOSAR with cuttingโedge cloudโnative technologies. The company prides itself on a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and a collaborative environment where engineers get to work on nextโgeneration vehicle platforms, electric mobility, and autonomous driving solutions.
As part of its Automotive Software Development division, KPIT is expanding its DevOps capabilities to meet the demanding quality and safety requirements of modern vehicle software. The Senior DevOps Engineer โ Automotive CI/CD/CT will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining endโtoโend automated pipelines that enable rapid, reliable, and traceable delivery of embedded software components. This role sits at the intersection of automotive engineering toolchains and modern cloudโnative platforms, offering a unique opportunity to influence how highโintegrity automotive code moves from developersโ workstations to virtual validation environments and finally to production.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Design, build, and scale automated CI/CD pipelines for automotive embedded software components, ensuring deterministic builds and compliance with ISO 26262.
2. Develop and maintain SoftwareโinโtheโLoop (SIL) simulation pipelines for virtual validation of control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE, and CANoe.
3. Containerize automotive tools (MATLAB, Simulink, CANoe, vTESTstudio, dSPACE, TargetLink) using Docker and orchestrate them on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
4. Implement InfrastructureโasโCode (IaC) using Terraform/ARM templates to provision deterministic build environments on both cloud and onโpremise VMs.
5. Integrate GitHub Enterprise with Azure Boards for full traceability between code commits, work items, and test results.
6. Automate artifact management, versioning, and compliance documentation, supporting audit trails required for functional safety.
7. Build AIโassisted automation scripts (Python, Bash, PowerShell) to optimize pipeline performance, monitor health, and predict failures.
8. Support hybrid execution models, enabling cloudโscale testing while leveraging onโpremise hardwareโinโtheโloop rigs.
9. Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Grafana to ensure high availability and quick issue resolution.
10. Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with crossโfunctional teams (software, validation, safety) to continuously improve the DevOps ecosystem.
**Tech Stack**: Git, GitHub/GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, Azure AKS, Azure Container Registry, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Linux, AUTOSAR, CANoe, vTESTstudio, dSPACE, TargetLink, AI/LLM agents.
**Growth Path**: Starting as a Senior DevOps Engineer, you can progress to Lead DevOps Engineer, Platform Architect, or Product Owner for automotive CI/CD platforms. KPIT encourages certifications (Azure, Kubernetes, ISO 26262) and offers internal mobility across its global R&D centers.
**Why Join KPIT?** You will work on safetyโcritical automotive software that powers real vehicles, collaborate with experts in both automotive and cloud domains, and benefit from a culture that values continuous upskilling, mentorship, and workโlife balance. The role offers exposure to cuttingโedge tools, AIโdriven automation, and the chance to shape the future of softwareโdefined vehicles.
