The Graduate Apprentice Trainee program is a flagship initiative under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS). It offers freshly graduated engineers a yearβlong, paid apprenticeship that blends classroom learning with handsβon project work across Volvoβs Financial Services and analytics functions. Apprentices receive mentorship from senior data professionals, access to internal training platforms, and the opportunity to contribute to real business problems that influence strategic decisions. Key Responsibilities: β’ Extract, clean and organize data from multiple sources using SQL, Excel and Python (Pandas, NumPy). β’ Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, correlations and key performance metrics. β’ Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI or Tableau. β’ Collaborate with crossβfunctional teams to define, track and visualise KPIs. β’ Support the automation of recurring reports and streamline data workflows. β’ Present analytical findings and recommendations through visual storytelling to stakeholders. β’ Assist in building data pipelines and basic ETL processes. β’ Contribute to forecasting models and simple machineβlearning prototypes where applicable. β’ Document data sources, transformation logic and reporting standards. β’ Participate in weekly knowledgeβsharing sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Tech Stack: SQL, Python (Pandas, NumPy), Excel (Power Query), Power BI, Tableau, basic cloud concepts (AWS/GCP/Azure), statistical analysis tools.
Growth Path: Successful apprentices are typically offered fullβtime positions as Data Analysts, Business Analysts or Junior Data Engineers.
