About the role

Honeywell Technologies is a global automation leader that delivers innovative solutions across buildings, industrial processes, and critical infrastructure. With a workforce of over 50,000 engineers and technologists, Honeywell combines deep domain expertise with cutting‑edge data analytics to drive the transition from automation to autonomy. The company’s culture emphasizes safety, sustainability, and continuous learning, offering fresh graduates a platform to work on real‑world problems that impact millions of lives. As a Software Engineer I – UI Developer, you will join Honeywell’s Bengaluru engineering hub, where cross‑functional teams collaborate to build modern, responsive web applications that power Honeywell’s digital products. This role is ideal for candidates who are passionate about front‑end development, enjoy turning design mock‑ups into pixel‑perfect interfaces, and are eager to learn about backend services and cloud platforms. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, receive mentorship, and have clear growth pathways toward senior UI engineering or full‑stack roles. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design, develop, test, and maintain responsive web user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript/TypeScript. 2. Build reusable UI components with React or Angular, adhering to component‑based architecture. 3. Translate product requirements and UX designs into functional, intuitive user experiences. 4. Integrate UI components with RESTful APIs and handle JSON data efficiently. 5. Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following industry best practices. 6. Perform unit and integration testing, and contribute to test automation frameworks. 7. Debug and resolve UI, browser compatibility, and performance issues. 8. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies. 9. Collaborate closely with UX designers, backend engineers, QA, and product managers. 10. Contribute to backend development tasks when required, gaining full‑stack exposure. **Tech Stack**: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Angular, Git, REST APIs, Node.js (optional), Azure/AWS (optional), CI/CD pipelines. **Growth Path**: Starting as a Software Engineer I, you can progress to Software Engineer II, Senior UI Engineer, and eventually Lead Engineer or Product Owner. Honeywell encourages continuous upskilling through internal training, certifications, and exposure to emerging technologies such as cloud services and AI‑driven analytics. **Why Join Honeywell?** The company offers a vibrant, inclusive environment where fresh talent is trusted with meaningful responsibilities early on. You will work on products that have a tangible impact on industries worldwide, receive competitive compensation, and benefit from a strong mentorship culture that accelerates your professional development.

Technical questions 4
What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer
Model answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer
Model answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer
Model answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer
Model answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
Behavioural & HR questions 3
Why do you want to join Honeywell as a Software Engr I?
