About the role

Fuller, a leading global supplier of cement and concrete solutions, operates under the umbrella of FLSmidth Cement. With a strong footprint in India, Fuller combines decades of engineering expertise with cutting‑edge digital initiatives to help construction firms improve productivity, sustainability and cost efficiency. The company’s culture is built around innovation, safety and a collaborative spirit, encouraging employees to experiment with new technologies while delivering reliable, high‑quality products to customers worldwide.

As part of its digital transformation journey, Fuller is expanding its front‑end engineering team to create modern, responsive web applications that power internal tools, client portals and data‑driven dashboards.

The Front End Developer II role is designed for fresh graduates or early‑career professionals who have a solid foundation in web technologies and a passion for building intuitive user experiences. Reporting to the Lead UI Engineer, the incumbent will work closely with UX/UI designers, backend developers and product managers to translate business requirements into clean, maintainable code. This position offers a fast‑paced learning environment where you will be exposed to the full software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment and post‑release monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive front‑end applications using HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Build reusable, modular UI components that adhere to the company’s design system.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement pixel‑perfect interfaces and ensure accessibility standards.
  • Integrate RESTful APIs securely and efficiently, handling data fetching, error handling and state management.
  • Optimize application performance through code splitting, lazy loading, and profiling tools.
  • Conduct thorough debugging and resolve front‑end defects reported by QA or end‑users.
  • Write unit and integration tests to maintain high code quality and reduce regression.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and adopt best practices in version control using Git.
  • Stay updated with emerging front‑end trends, libraries and tools, and propose improvements to the existing stack.
  • Contribute to documentation, technical specifications and knowledge‑sharing sessions within the team.

Tech Stack: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), React.js (or equivalent modern framework), TypeScript, Git, REST APIs, Webpack/Babel, Jest/React Testing Library.

Growth Path: Starting as a Front End Developer II, high performers can progress to Senior Front End Engineer, UI/UX Lead, or move into full‑stack development roles. Fuller encourages continuous learning through internal workshops, certifications and mentorship programs, enabling engineers to broaden their skill set and take on leadership responsibilities.

Why Join Fuller?

  • Work on real‑world, high‑impact projects that serve the construction and infrastructure sector.
  • Be part of a globally recognized brand with strong financial stability and a clear digital roadmap.
  • Access to a collaborative environment that values innovation, work‑life balance and employee well‑being.
  • Competitive compensation, performance bonuses and opportunities for international exposure.
  • Structured career development plans, regular feedback cycles and a supportive leadership team.

Overall, this role offers a unique blend of technical challenge, industry relevance and professional growth for aspiring front‑end engineers looking to make a mark in a reputable organization.

Technical questions 4
What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer
Model answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer
Model answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer
Model answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer
Model answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
Behavioural & HR questions 3
Why do you want to join Flsmidthcement as a Front End Developer II?
Highlight Flsmidthcement's market reputation, recent tech innovations, and how your skills in HTML5 directly solve their team's objectives.
