Amazon is a global technology leader that redefines how people shop, work, and entertain themselves. With a presence in more than 200 countries, Amazon’s mission is to be Earth’s most customer‑centric company, offering a vast array of products and services—from e‑commerce and cloud computing to AI and entertainment. In India, Amazon has grown rapidly, operating thousands of fulfillment centers, delivery hubs, and a sophisticated logistics network that powers millions of orders every day. The Transportation Specialist role sits at the heart of Amazon’s Transportation Operation Center (TOC), the central command that orchestrates the flow of freight across the supply chain. As a TOC specialist, you will be the first line of defense for any transportation exception, ensuring that vendors, carriers, and fulfillment centers stay on schedule. Your day will involve real‑time problem resolution, data‑driven decision making, and continuous process improvement to keep the network running smoothly. Key responsibilities include: 1. Monitoring inbound and outbound operations to detect and resolve exceptions before they impact customer delivery. 2. Communicating with external stakeholders—carriers, vendors, and suppliers—and internal teams such as Retail, Finance, and Software Support. 3. Pulling data from multiple databases using Excel, Access, SQL, or other tools to perform ad‑hoc reporting and trend analysis. 4. Developing and interpreting performance metrics to drive business results and identify improvement opportunities. 5. Scoping business and functional requirements for Amazon’s technology teams to enhance TOC tools. 6. Escalating issues to the appropriate owners and following through to resolution. 7. Working within tight time constraints in a 24/7 operating environment. 8. Presenting findings and variances in weekly reviews and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. 9. Ideating process changes that automate exception handling and streamline operations. 10. Maintaining clear, concise documentation and narratives for stakeholders. The tech stack you’ll work with includes Excel for data manipulation, SQL for querying large datasets, and internal Amazon tools for monitoring and reporting. Strong analytical skills, a quantitative mindset, and excellent communication are essential. Growth path: Starting as a Transportation Specialist, you can progress to Senior Specialist, Lead, or Manager roles within the Transportation Operations or Supply Chain teams. Amazon’s culture of ownership and continuous learning provides ample opportunities to develop leadership, technical, and cross‑functional skills. Why join Amazon? You’ll be part of a company that values innovation, customer obsession, and operational excellence. The role offers exposure to large‑scale logistics challenges, the chance to work with cutting‑edge data tools, and a collaborative environment that rewards initiative and results. Amazon’s global footprint and commitment to employee growth make it an ideal place for freshers looking to build a career in operations and data analytics.

Model Answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer ▼
