Arm Ltd. is a global leader in semiconductor and software design, best known for its IP cores that power billions of devices worldwide. With a strong focus on innovation, Arm’s ecosystem spans mobile, automotive, IoT, and data‑center markets, enabling partners to create energy‑efficient, high‑performance solutions. The company’s culture encourages curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning, offering employees exposure to cutting‑edge technologies and a chance to impact the future of computing. Working at Arm means being part of a diverse, inclusive environment where engineers are empowered to experiment, share ideas, and grow their careers through mentorship and structured learning programs. The Physical IP Division’s Design Enablement team is looking for fresh talent to join as Associate Engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining software tools that automate the creation, validation, and verification of custom cells and macros used in semiconductor design flows. You will work closely with circuit designers, verification engineers, and senior software developers to ensure that the tools you create are reliable, scalable, and seamlessly integrated with Arm’s internal EDA ecosystem. The position follows a hybrid work model, allowing you to collaborate on‑site in Bengaluru while also leveraging remote flexibility. Key responsibilities include: 1. Design, develop, and maintain Java and Python based applications that support custom IP development. 2. Create automated workflows to streamline repetitive engineering tasks and reduce manual effort. 3. Write clean, modular, and well‑documented code adhering to industry best practices. 4. Develop unit, integration, and regression test suites to guarantee software quality. 5. Debug complex issues in both software and hardware validation pipelines. 6. Integrate third‑party EDA tools and implement new build methodologies for cloud and on‑prem environments. 7. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. 8. Maintain version control using Git and ensure proper release management. 9. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to existing tools and processes. 10. Provide technical support and documentation for end‑users of the developed tools. The tech stack revolves around Java, Python, Git, Linux/Unix, and scripting languages such as Tcl, Bash, or tcsh. Familiarity with data structures, algorithms, and object‑oriented design is essential. As you gain experience, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, or Technical Architect roles, with opportunities to lead larger tool‑development projects or move into product management within Arm’s IP portfolio. Joining Arm offers exposure to world‑class semiconductor design challenges, a supportive learning environment, and the chance to work on products that shape the future of technology.

What is the difference between Implicit Wait, Explicit Wait, and Fluent Wait in Selenium? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Implicit Wait sets a global timeout for all element lookups. Explicit Wait pauses execution until a specific ExpectedCondition (e.g. elementToBeClickable) is met. Fluent Wait allows defining polling frequency and ignoring specific exceptions like NoSuchElementException.
Explain the Page Object Model (POM) and its advantages in Test Automation. Answer ▼
Model Answer: POM is a design pattern that creates an object repository for web UI elements. It separates test scripts from page locators, reducing code duplication and making maintenance easy when UI elements change.
How do you handle dynamic WebElements whose ID changes on page reload? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Use dynamic XPath methods like contains(), starts-with(), text(), or XPath axes (ancestor, following-sibling, parent) instead of brittle absolute paths.
What is the difference between @BeforeMethod and @BeforeClass in TestNG? Answer ▼
Model Answer: @BeforeClass runs once before the first test method in the current class, while @BeforeMethod executes before each individual test method.
How do you validate REST API response codes and JSON payload using Postman / RestAssured? Answer ▼
Model Answer: In RestAssured: given().when().get('/endpoint').then().assertThat().statusCode(200).body('status', equalTo('ACTIVE')).
