About the role

IQVIA is a global leader in health‑care data, analytics and technology solutions. With a presence in more than 100 countries, the company helps pharmaceutical firms, payers and providers make data‑driven decisions that improve patient outcomes. In India, IQVIA operates cutting‑edge labs, research centers and delivery hubs, offering fresh talent exposure to world‑class projects and a multicultural work environment.

The Bengaluru office, known for its vibrant tech community, focuses on building innovative digital platforms that power clinical research, real‑world evidence generation, and patient engagement.

The role of Software Engineer – React is designed for 2027 graduates who are passionate about turning UI/UX designs into responsive, high‑performance web applications. As a front‑end specialist, you will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences for IQVIA’s suite of health‑tech products. This is a home‑based, full‑time opportunity that allows you to work from the comfort of your own space while staying connected to a dynamic, globally distributed team.

Key responsibilities include

  • Develop, test, and maintain reusable React components following best practices.
  • Translate UI/UX mockups and wireframes into pixel‑perfect, responsive web pages using HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
  • Ensure technical feasibility of designs and optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Write clean, well‑documented code and maintain coding standards across the front‑end repository.
  • Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adopt continuous integration pipelines.
  • Create functional requirement documents, user guides, and prototype demos for stakeholder review.
  • Conduct unit testing and support QA teams during functional and regression testing cycles.
  • Proactively suggest UI/UX improvements based on user feedback and analytics.
  • Stay updated with emerging front‑end technologies and contribute to the team’s knowledge base.

Tech Stack: React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, Redux/Context API, Git, RESTful APIs, Jest/React Testing Library for unit testing, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.

Growth Path: Starting as a Junior Front‑End Engineer, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, and eventually to Architecture or Product Management roles, depending on your interests and performance. IQVIA encourages continuous learning through internal training programs, certifications, and mentorship from senior technologists.

Why Join IQVIA? The company offers a data‑centric culture where technology directly impacts health outcomes, providing a sense of purpose beyond code. Employees benefit from flexible work‑from‑home policies, competitive compensation, global exposure, and a supportive environment that values innovation, diversity, and work‑life balance.

Technical questions 4
What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer
Model answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer
Model answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer
Model answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer
Model answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
Behavioural & HR questions 3
