Akamai Technologies is a global leader in content delivery, cloud security, and edge computing. With a network that routes more than 20% of the world’s web traffic, the company powers everything from streaming live events to online banking, ensuring fast, reliable, and secure digital experiences for billions of users every day. Akamai’s mission is to make the internet faster, safer, and more resilient by delivering innovative solutions from the cloud to the edge. The firm’s culture emphasizes continuous learning, collaboration across borders, and a relentless focus on customer impact, making it an attractive destination for ambitious engineers. The Network Operations Systems Group (NOSG) is at the heart of Akamai’s infrastructure. This team builds and maintains high‑availability systems that enable network engineers, operations teams, and automated pipelines to work more efficiently. As a Software Engineer in NOSG, you will join a diverse, international cohort of developers, product managers, and site reliability engineers. You will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and operating distributed services that support automation, observability, and identity management across Akamai’s massive edge platform. Key Responsibilities: 1. Analyze requirements and design high‑availability software components for network operations. 2. Implement new features for automation, monitoring, and identity services using Python, Go, and shell scripting. 3. Contribute to the full product lifecycle—from ideation and prototyping to production deployment and post‑release support. 4. Enhance testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling to improve release confidence. 5. Optimize Linux/Unix based services for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance. 6. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including network engineers, SREs, and product owners, to deliver end‑to‑end solutions. 7. Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and enforce best practices. 8. Stay abreast of emerging network automation trends and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption. 9. Maintain version control hygiene using Git, Stash, and Perforce. 10. Document designs, runbooks, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing. Tech Stack: Python, Go, Bash/Shell, Linux/Unix, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL, Git, Stash, Perforce, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus/Grafana for monitoring. Growth Path: Starting as an entry‑level Software Engineer, you can progress to Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, and eventually Principal Engineer or Engineering Manager, with opportunities to move into specialized domains such as edge security, performance engineering, or platform architecture. Why Join Akamai? You will work on systems that impact billions of users, gain exposure to cutting‑edge network technologies, and benefit from a culture that rewards curiosity and collaboration. The FlexBase program offers flexible work arrangements, allowing you to balance remote work with occasional on‑site collaboration, while comprehensive health, financial, and wellbeing benefits support your overall growth.

What is the difference between Implicit Wait, Explicit Wait, and Fluent Wait in Selenium? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Implicit Wait sets a global timeout for all element lookups. Explicit Wait pauses execution until a specific ExpectedCondition (e.g. elementToBeClickable) is met. Fluent Wait allows defining polling frequency and ignoring specific exceptions like NoSuchElementException.
Explain the Page Object Model (POM) and its advantages in Test Automation. Answer ▼
Model Answer: POM is a design pattern that creates an object repository for web UI elements. It separates test scripts from page locators, reducing code duplication and making maintenance easy when UI elements change.
How do you handle dynamic WebElements whose ID changes on page reload? Answer ▼
Model Answer: Use dynamic XPath methods like contains(), starts-with(), text(), or XPath axes (ancestor, following-sibling, parent) instead of brittle absolute paths.
What is the difference between @BeforeMethod and @BeforeClass in TestNG? Answer ▼
Model Answer: @BeforeClass runs once before the first test method in the current class, while @BeforeMethod executes before each individual test method.
How do you validate REST API response codes and JSON payload using Postman / RestAssured? Answer ▼
Model Answer: In RestAssured: given().when().get('/endpoint').then().assertThat().statusCode(200).body('status', equalTo('ACTIVE')).
