About the role

Amazon, founded in 1994, has grown into one of the world’s most customer‑obsessed companies, operating across e‑commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and logistics. In India, Amazon employs over 100,000 people and runs a massive delivery network that reaches every corner of the country. The company’s culture is built around its Leadership Principles, encouraging ownership, bias for action, and relentless focus on the customer.

As a fresher‑friendly employer, Amazon offers structured onboarding, mentorship programs, and clear career ladders that enable fresh graduates to accelerate their growth.

The role of Transportation Representative (L2) is the critical bridge between Amazon’s internal operations and its external delivery partners (DPs). You will act as the face of Amazon for DPs, troubleshooting issues, ensuring timely deliveries, and driving continuous process improvements. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy fast‑paced problem solving, have strong communication skills, and are comfortable working with data and technology tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with delivery partners and internal stakeholders at all times.
  • Provide prompt and efficient service to resolve DP queries related to shipments, routing, and payments.
  • Escalate sensitive or high‑impact cases through the defined escalation matrix while maintaining ownership.
  • Track and meet performance metrics such as response time, issue resolution rate, and partner satisfaction scores.
  • Identify recurring patterns in DP issues and propose process improvements to senior leadership.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions using Amazon’s ticketing and CRM tools.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (operations, finance, technology) to close gaps in the delivery ecosystem.
  • Conduct regular follow‑ups with DPs to ensure compliance with Amazon’s service standards.
  • Assist in training new DPs on Amazon’s policies and tools.
  • Generate daily/weekly reports to monitor KPI trends and present insights to management.

Tech Stack & Tools: Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced), SQL basics for data pulls, internal ticketing system, and web‑based partner portals.

Growth Path: Successful L2 representatives can progress to Senior Transportation Representative, Operations Lead, or move laterally into Supply Chain Analytics, Logistics Management, or Customer Experience roles. Amazon’s internal mobility program encourages employees to explore different functions after 12‑18 months of performance.

Why Join Amazon?

  • Work with a global leader that invests heavily in employee development.
  • Exposure to a massive logistics network, giving you hands‑on experience in end‑to‑end supply chain operations.
  • Competitive compensation, stock options, and comprehensive benefits.

  • Opportunity to impact millions of customers daily while building a robust professional network.

Technical questions 5
What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer
Model answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer
Model answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer
Model answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer
Model answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer
Model answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
