About the role

Unstop.com is one of India’s fastest‑growing platforms that connects students with internships, live projects, and entry‑level jobs. Founded with the vision of democratizing access to real‑world experience, Unstop has built a vibrant community of over 5 million young professionals across the country. The platform not only aggregates opportunities from startups, SMEs, and large enterprises but also curates learning resources, hackathons, and career‑building events. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and mentorship, Unstop helps freshers bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry expectations. The Data Analytics Internship, offered under the Unstop Summer Internship Fair 2026 and hosted by Nova Technology, is a three‑month, full‑time, work‑from‑home opportunity. Interns will be embedded within a cross‑functional analytics team that supports data‑driven decision‑making for multiple client projects. The role is designed for students who are passionate about turning raw data into actionable insights and are eager to gain hands‑on experience with modern analytics tools. Key responsibilities include: 1. Collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from APIs, CSV files, and cloud storage. 2. Conducting exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and outliers. 3. Building interactive dashboards using Tableau or Powerβ€―BI to visualize key metrics. 4. Assisting senior analysts in developing predictive models with Python (pandas, scikit‑learn) or R. 5. Performing statistical tests (t‑test, chi‑square) to validate hypotheses. 6. Documenting data pipelines, analysis methodology, and findings in clear reports. 7. Collaborating with product, marketing, and operations teams to translate business questions into analytical tasks. 8. Participating in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and presenting progress updates. 9. Ensuring data quality through validation checks and error handling. 10. Contributing to ad‑hoc data requests and supporting the team’s continuous improvement initiatives. The tech stack primarily includes Python, SQL, Excel, Tableau/Powerβ€―BI, and Git for version control. Interns will receive mentorship from experienced data scientists, exposure to real client data, and the chance to see end‑to‑end analytics workflows. Successful interns may be offered a pre‑placement offer, a certificate of completion, and a letter of recommendation, paving the way for a full‑time role in data analytics or data science at Nova Technology or partner firms. Joining this internship provides a unique blend of practical exposure, professional networking, and a solid foundation for a career in the data domain.

Technical questions 5
What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer
Model answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer
Model answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer
Model answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer
Model answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer
Model answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
