Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Derivia Intelligence is a leading provider of highβfrequency, highβquality data sets that power decisionβmaking for the worldβs biggest financial institutions. With over two decades of experience, the company operates three flagship businesses β Structured Retail Products (SRP), FixedβIncome, Options & Warrants (FOW) and GlobalCapital β delivering timely market data, news, analytics and events across derivatives and other complex instruments. Their data feeds are trusted by 9 out of 10 of the worldβs largest investment banks, as well as topβtier asset managers, hedge funds, service providers and regulators. The firmβs mission is to turn raw market information into actionable insights that improve trading efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk and drive profitable investment decisions.
The Chennai data teams are expanding rapidly, and Derivia is hiring Data Analysts at multiple seniority levels β from fresh graduates to seasoned professionals. The role sits within either the SRP or FOW data streams, both of which cover the United States market as a primary focus while also supporting global projects across North America, Europe, APAC and Latin America. Analysts work closely with colleagues in India and Bulgaria, processing complex market data, maintaining product databases, and ensuring that the data delivered to clients meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.
As a Data Analyst you will be the backbone of the data delivery pipeline. You will ingest raw market feeds, validate and cleanse data, update product databases, and generate auditβready reports. You will also track data issues, propose improvements, and help maintain comprehensive procedural documentation. The role demands strong analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fastβpaced, collaborative environment. While prior experience in data processing or database administration is advantageous, the position is open to recent graduates who possess a solid academic foundation in finance, mathematics, statistics or related fields, along with strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain SRP/FOW product databases to a high standard of quality using internal workflow tools.
2. Record and preserve detailed audit trails for every data change made.
3. Track data issues, resolutions, and bestβpractice updates in a systematic manner.
4. Ensure client SLA commitments for timeliness, quality and cost are consistently met.
5. Flag potential risks early and propose mitigation plans.
6. Keep all dataβmanagement procedure guides current and accurate.
7. Collaborate with crossβregional teams (India & Bulgaria) to process complex market data.
8. Contribute to global projects that support strategic business decisions.
9. Provide regular status reports and insights to senior stakeholders.
10. Continuously learn domain knowledge from senior analysts and subjectβmatter experts.
Tech Stack & Tools: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros), Microsoft Office Suite, internal dataβworkflow platforms, basic SQL for data extraction, and cloudβbased collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint). Familiarity with financial market terminology and data structures is a plus.
Growth Path: Starting as an Analyst, high performers can progress to Senior Analyst, Team Lead, and eventually to Product Manager or Domain Specialist roles. Derivia encourages continuous learning through internal training, certifications, and exposure to global markets, enabling analysts to build deep expertise in structured products and fixedβincome data.
