Your primary responsibility will be to manage end‑to‑end trade transactions for Premium and Standard Trade Clients, ensuring all documentation, approvals and compliance checks are completed accurately and on time. Key responsibilities include: 1. Own trade transaction processing from initiation to settlement. 2. Verify and secure all required documents and internal approvals. 3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders (MO, Sales, Product teams) to minimise transaction breakdowns. 4. Resolve customer complaints and queries via e‑helpline, phone and email. 5. Prepare onboarding documentation and support new client set‑up. 6. Conduct proactive callbacks for payment instructions, exchange rates and fund status. 7. Follow up on export payments, overdue bills, and reconciliation of financial instruments. 8. Liaise with overseas group offices for cross‑border transaction support. 9. Promote digital solutions and AI‑enabled tools to enhance client experience. 10. Maintain compliance with HSBC’s internal control standards and Group policies. The apprenticeship will run for 12 months, after which a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded by the Government of India. Throughout the program, you will be evaluated on performance, learning agility and contribution to team goals. Growth path: Successful apprentices can transition into full‑time roles such as Trade Analyst, Client Relationship Manager or Operations Specialist, with clear pathways for promotion and professional development. What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer β–Ό
Model Answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
