About the role

Revature is a global talent development company that partners with universities, corporations and governments to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry‑ready skills. Founded in the United States, Revature has expanded its footprint to India, establishing delivery centres in major tech hubs such as Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. The company’s core mission is to train fresh graduates on cutting‑edge technologies and then place them with client organisations, creating a win‑win ecosystem for learners, employers and Revature alike. With a strong emphasis on continuous learning, Revature invests heavily in curriculum design, mentorship programmes and real‑world project exposure, making it a preferred launchpad for aspiring technologists. The Junior Trainer role in Chennai is designed for recent graduates who are passionate about teaching, technology and mentorship. As a Junior Trainer, you will be part of Revature’s training delivery team, responsible for guiding batches of freshers through intensive, hands‑on modules that cover programming fundamentals, software development lifecycle, and emerging tech stacks. You will work under senior trainers, assist in curriculum execution, evaluate learner performance, and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve competency. Key Responsibilities: 1. Conduct live virtual or classroom sessions on programming concepts and tools. 2. Prepare and deliver lesson plans, demos and coding exercises. 3. Assist senior trainers in designing curriculum content and assessments. 4. Monitor student progress, maintain attendance records and grade assignments. 5. Provide one‑on‑one mentorship to address individual learning gaps. 6. Facilitate group discussions, hackathons and peer‑learning activities. 7. Troubleshoot technical issues faced by learners during labs. 8. Collect feedback from students and suggest improvements to the training program. 9. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate relevant topics into sessions. 10. Uphold Revature’s standards of professionalism, punctuality and learner‑centric approach. Tech Stack: The training modules primarily focus on Java, Python, SQL, HTML/CSS, JavaScript and basic cloud concepts (AWS/GCP). Familiarity with version control (Git) and IDEs (Eclipse/IntelliJ) is advantageous. Growth Path: Starting as a Junior Trainer, high performers can progress to Senior Trainer, Curriculum Designer, or Technical Project Lead within 12‑24 months. Revature also offers pathways to full‑time software development roles with its client partners, enabling a seamless transition from trainer to industry professional. Why Join Revature? The company offers a vibrant learning environment, exposure to real‑world projects, and a clear career ladder. Freshers get the rare opportunity to teach while simultaneously sharpening their own technical skills, making them highly marketable. The Chennai centre boasts a collaborative culture, modern infrastructure, and regular upskilling workshops, ensuring that you grow both as an educator and a technologist.

Technical questions 4
What is the bias-variance tradeoff and how do you prevent overfitting? Answer
Model answer: High bias leads to underfitting (oversimplified model), high variance leads to overfitting (captures noise). Mitigate using L1/L2 Regularization, Dropout, Cross-Validation, and data augmentation.
Explain the difference between Precision, Recall, and F1-Score. Answer
Model answer: Precision = TP / (TP + FP) (correctness of positive predictions). Recall = TP / (TP + FN) (coverage of actual positives). F1-Score is the harmonic mean of Precision and Recall.
How does Gradient Descent work and what is the role of Learning Rate? Answer
Model answer: It optimizes loss functions by iteratively moving weights in the direction of negative gradient. A large learning rate may overshoot the minimum; a small rate causes slow convergence.
What is the difference between Supervised, Unsupervised, and Self-Supervised learning? Answer
Model answer: Supervised uses labeled data (X -> y). Unsupervised finds hidden patterns in unlabeled data (clustering/PCA). Self-supervised generates labels from input data (e.g. masked language modeling in BERT/Transformers).
Behavioural & HR questions 3
