About the role

GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company, is a leading digital engineering services firm that partners with some of the world’s most innovative brands across high‑tech, communications, media, healthcare, retail and telecom sectors. Since its inception in 2000, GlobalLogic has built a reputation for delivering end‑to‑end product development, from concept to launch, leveraging cutting‑edge technologies such as AI, IoT, cloud, and immersive experiences. The company’s culture is rooted in collaboration, continuous learning, and a strong focus on quality, which makes it an attractive destination for fresh talent looking to start a career in a global environment. The role of Associate Analyst – Freshers (Non‑Technical/Non‑Voice) is designed for recent graduates who possess strong analytical instincts and excellent communication skills. As an Associate Analyst, you will be part of the Risk Management and Data Insights team, supporting data research, trend analysis, and fraud detection activities. You will work on real‑world datasets, interpret transaction patterns, and help mitigate financial and operational risks for GlobalLogic’s diverse client base. The position offers exposure to cross‑functional teams, a structured learning path, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the company’s operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: 1. Research, collect, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness. 2. Analyze transaction trends, usage patterns across geographies, user segments, and product lines. 3. Identify potential fraud, anomalies, and risk indicators using statistical techniques. 4. Prepare concise risk assessment reports and recommend mitigation actions. 5. Meet daily/weekly productivity, quality, and accuracy targets set by the operations lead. 6. Suggest process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency. 7. Collaborate with internal stakeholders (risk, finance, compliance) and external partners to resolve data‑related issues. 8. Maintain documentation of standard operating procedures and ensure compliance with data governance policies. 9. Participate in regular training sessions and knowledge‑sharing forums to stay updated on industry best practices. 10. Provide timely support during rotational shifts, ensuring seamless coverage across the week. Tech Stack & Tools: While the role is non‑technical, familiarity with MS Excel, PowerPoint, basic SQL querying, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is advantageous. Knowledge of risk‑management frameworks and basic statistical concepts will help in delivering high‑quality analysis. Growth Path: Starting as an Associate Analyst, high performers can progress to Senior Analyst, Risk Management Specialist, and eventually to Team Lead or Manager roles within the analytics domain. GlobalLogic’s internal mobility program also enables lateral moves into product, client‑service, or digital engineering tracks for broader career development. Why Join GlobalLogic? The company offers exciting projects with global brands, a collaborative environment that encourages learning, flexible work schedules, and a strong emphasis on work‑life balance. Technical questions 5
What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer
Model answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer
Model answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer
Model answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer
Model answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer
Model answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
