About the role

Flexiple is a fast‑growing technology‑driven marketplace that connects top‑tier freelancers with global enterprises. Founded in 2018, the company has built a reputation for delivering high‑impact product teams on demand, leveraging a rigorous vetting process and a culture of transparency. With a distributed workforce across India and a client base spanning North America, Europe and APAC, Flexiple emphasizes results‑oriented collaboration, continuous learning, and a strong focus on data‑backed decision making.

The organization’s finance and analytics function plays a pivotal role in steering growth, optimizing revenue streams, and ensuring financial health for both the platform and its partners.

The Financial Data Analyst role sits at the intersection of finance, product, and data engineering. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the analyst will own the end‑to‑end pipeline for key revenue metrics such as Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), churn, cohort performance, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) payback. By building robust SQL models, reconciling billing data with the general ledger, and automating board‑level reports, the analyst enables leadership to make swift, data‑driven decisions.

The position also involves close partnership with founders and senior finance leaders to answer ad‑hoc growth queries and translate business problems into analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable SQL models for ARR, churn, cohort, and other revenue‑related metrics.
  • Reconcile billing and subscription data against the general ledger to ensure data integrity.
  • Automate recurring board and investor‑metric reports using BI tools.
  • Build self‑serve dashboards for revenue, retention, and CAC payback that empower stakeholders.
  • Conduct deep‑dive analyses to uncover growth levers and cost‑optimization opportunities.
  • Collaborate with product, finance, and engineering teams to define KPI definitions and data collection standards.
  • Prepare ad‑hoc analytical reports for founders and senior leadership.
  • Monitor data quality, flag anomalies, and implement corrective actions.
  • Mentor junior analysts on best practices in data modeling and visualization.
  • Stay updated with industry trends in SaaS finance analytics and suggest process improvements.

Tech Stack: PostgreSQL, Snowflake, dbt, Looker/Tableau, Python (pandas), Excel, Git.

Growth Path: Successful analysts can progress to Senior Analyst, Finance Business Partner, or Finance Manager roles, eventually moving into Head of Finance or Director‑level positions within Flexiple’s expanding finance organization.

Why Join Flexiple? The company offers a fully remote work environment, competitive compensation (8‑12 LPA), exposure to high‑growth SaaS metrics, and the chance to influence strategic decisions at a fast‑moving startup. Employees benefit from a culture that values autonomy, continuous upskilling, and a strong work‑life balance, making it an ideal place for ambitious analysts looking to accelerate their careers.

Technical questions 5
What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer
Model answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer
Model answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer
Model answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer
Model answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer
Model answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
