With a presence in over 100 countries, the firm is known for its deep client relationships, innovative technology platforms and a culture that emphasizes integrity, collaboration and continuous learning. In India, JPMorgan Chase has built a strong foothold in corporate banking, treasury services and trade finance, offering fresh graduates a chance to work on high‑impact projects that shape global financial markets. The Trade Lifecycle Analyst role sits within the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB) business unit in Mumbai. As an analyst, you will be part of the operations team that ensures every trade – from capture to settlement – is processed accurately, on time and in compliance with regulatory standards. You will interact with front‑office traders, middle‑office risk teams and external custodians, gaining a holistic view of how financial transactions flow through the bank’s ecosystem. The position is ideal for candidates who enjoy analytical problem‑solving, have a keen eye for detail and are comfortable working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Capture trade details from various sources and ensure accurate entry into the bank’s trade management system. 2. Perform pre‑trade checks, confirm trade terms and coordinate with counterparties for trade confirmations. 3. Monitor cash movements, reconcile client accounts and coordinate funding for managed demand‑deposit accounts. 4. Manage trade exceptions, investigate root causes and drive timely resolution with relevant stakeholders. 5. Generate daily, weekly and monthly KPI/KRI reports to track operational performance and risk metrics. 6. Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation and responding to queries. 7. Participate in business continuity planning and ensure critical processes have robust backup procedures. 8. Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives, especially using VBA and Excel macros. 9. Liaise with technology teams to test system enhancements and ensure smooth production roll‑outs. 10. Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting trade settlement and funding operations. **Tech Stack & Tools**: The role primarily uses JPMorgan’s proprietary trade processing platforms, along with Microsoft Excel, VBA for automation, SQL for data extraction, and basic knowledge of Bloomberg/Reuters terminals. Familiarity with Python or R is a plus for advanced analytics. **Growth Path**: Starting as a Trade Lifecycle Analyst, high performers can progress to Senior Analyst, Operations Manager, or move laterally into Trade Finance, Treasury Operations, or Risk Management. The bank also offers structured learning programs, certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) and global mobility opportunities. **Why Join JPMorgan Chase?** The firm offers a world‑class learning environment, exposure to complex financial products, and a collaborative culture that rewards initiative. Employees benefit from mentorship programs, competitive compensation, and a clear roadmap for career advancement, making it an excellent launchpad for a long‑term career in banking operations.

Technical questions 5
What is the difference between WHERE and HAVING clauses in SQL? Answer
Model answer: WHERE filters rows before any groupings are applied, while HAVING filters aggregated groups after GROUP BY has executed.
Explain SQL Window functions: ROW_NUMBER(), RANK(), and DENSE_RANK(). Answer
Model answer: ROW_NUMBER() assigns unique sequential integers. RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties and skips ranks. DENSE_RANK() assigns identical ranks to ties without skipping rank numbers.
How do you handle NULL and missing values during data cleaning in Python/Pandas? Answer
Model answer: Use .isna().sum() to identify missing values. Impute with mean/median using .fillna() or remove with .dropna(subset=[...]) depending on variance impact.
What is the difference between Star Schema and Snowflake Schema in Data Warehousing? Answer
Model answer: Star Schema has denormalized dimension tables directly connected to the central Fact table. Snowflake Schema normalizes dimension tables into sub-dimensions to minimize redundancy.
How do you calculate MoM (Month-over-Month) growth in SQL? Answer
Model answer: Use LAG(revenue, 1) OVER (ORDER BY month) to fetch the previous month's revenue and compute (revenue - prev_revenue) / prev_revenue * 100.
